A majestic course from a true master

When it comes to course design, few names are as revered as the legendary Donald Ross, a veritable pioneer among golf architects. Born in Scotland in 1872, he spent most of his life in the United States designing some of the finest courses in the annals of the game, known for their natural layout, gently rolling terrain and crowned, “turtleback” greens. Jack Nickalus has said that, “His stamp as an architect is naturalness.” That’s certainly true of his breathtaking course at The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. Designed in the early 1920s—in the “front yard of the Inn”—Ross’ course is a testament to his skills and his ability to create a layout that is enjoyable for players of all levels.  To learn more, click here.
